Where’s the Beach?
Summer is underway and last Sunday I spent the day at the beach catching up with friends that I haven’t seen in a while.
Both of our kids graduated from high school the day before and they had met each other in kindergarten. There were years in there when neither of us were sure they were going to make it through.
What was really nice was the canopy my friends had set up and the comfortable beach chairs.
I had actually brought my own beach chair. I didn’t realize how un-comfortable mine was until I sat in their’s.
This is true sometimes when we get used to a condition or circumstance in our lives. We just get used to it thinking, “It’s ok. This is fine. I can manage.” (And we do.)
So many times we try to do something without the proper setup. And then we wonder why we’re struggling.
But if there’s a way to feel better, to improve your set-up, why not invest in it?
You might have a much more relaxing time and go home feeling much better than when you arrived.
