Hi everyone. Dr Liz, here we are coming up on the holiday season. This is 2024. And normally I air a mindful eating hypnosis right before the holidays and if you wanna listen to that, that’s Episode 279. You can search that up or you can search it up on my website as well. Free mindful eating hypnosis.

But this year I decided to do one on happiness. The holidays are often a happy time for many people, but there’s definitely many people where they are not. They’re handling and navigating social situations and family situations that don’t leave them feeling so happy afterwards. So I thought let’s do a free one for happiness contentment really, because happiness conveys a like oh, I’m so happy kind of feeling. You know, like oh, everything is fantastic.

That doesn’t always feel reachable for people, but I think contentment often does. Like you are content in your life. Things are pretty good. If we’re going to like, do a scale, contentment would be under happiness and joy as we’re moving up the scale, and I think content is a wonderful place to be. Honestly

Happy for me is like seeing kittens at the shelter and they’re playing and it’s like oh, my God, that’s a joy. Or puppies playing, that’s just straight up joy. Contentment is the older cats who are sitting around and wanting pets and just wanting to like, snuggle up beside you and get some pets, or an older dog who’s on the couch with you, hanging out watching TV, snoring. That’s contentment and to me that’s a wonderful feeling.

Now, in the hypnosis, I do mention that the more you put yourself into this feeling state then the more the events in your life will line up with this feeling state. I have to say that comes straight from Abraham Hicks, and I attended a workshop yesterday, an Abraham Hicks workshop, where this exact thing was talked about. How often people try to intellect their way into a certain feeling or state that they want to be in. Often it’s happiness. Quote unquote. Intellect meaning they are thinking about it all the time, thinking, thinking, thinking. How can I get there?

Or they’ll do things like oh, I’ll go on this cruise or I’ll go on this trip and then that way I’ll feel happy, or I’ll work hard, hard, hard, make this amount of money and then feel happy. And really the trick is to feel that state as much as possible. Put yourself into that feeling state and the events will line up with that. The universe will start to conspire to create that for you more and more, and I think that’s just wonderful advice. Like, yeah, we’re trying to get to the feeling state.

Often I have a money mentor, Joan Sotkin, who you can look up. She’s wonderful and she often says like happiness has nothing to do with money.

People often think if I have more money, I’ll feel a certain way, I’ll feel happy, I can do whatever I like and I’ll feel happy. But we know from tons of research that that is not the case, that money doesn’t give you that feeling. And Joan’s point too is access the, regardless of how much money you have, access the feeling and you will live in a prosperous state, the feeling of contentment or happiness or freedom to do whatever you want to do.

That lines up with what Abraham Hicks is saying practice accessing the state. So that’s what this hypnosis is and it references that you can create that state and that events will correspond to activate that state more and more in your life when you create the state.

Often people come to me for hypnosis to solve some problems that they’re having physical problems, emotional problems, trauma, healing trauma but I always love getting calls to create prosperity, abundance. To create prosperity, abundance, happiness. So sometimes people will call up and say, well, I’m not quite depressed, but I see myself heading in that direction, like, can we do a hypnosis for depression? And in my mind that translates immediately to hypnosis for contentment or happiness or recreating the state that they want to be in. They don’t want to go to depression, they want to go the opposite way energy, freedom, a sense of meaning and purpose in their life. And so I love getting those calls as well.

But sometimes people will come directly in for abundance, prosperity, clearing blocks, clearing emotional blocks or money blocks or something like that. I love getting those calls too where they’re already going towards the positive.
