SHOULD I PREPARE IN ADVANCE AND EMAIL MY BACKGROUND INFO?  

I prefer to get all of the info in the initial consult, though happy to review any documents after we meet.

 

TYPICAL NUMBER OF SESSIONS:

For most people, 1-2 sessions are typically enough for me to diagnose the problem and make recommendations about strategies.

 

WILL YOU MEET WITH MY NARCISSISTIC PARENT AND ME? 

Yes, if they are willing but my schedule doesn’t allow ongoing sessions, only 1-2 sessions typically.

 

IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR YOU WRITE TO A LETTER FOR ME TO SEND TO MY PARENT?

Yes. If you would like for me to write a letter or review the letter you would like to send to a narcissistic parent, the charge is for one hour at the same rate as consultation.

 

WILL YOU REACH OUT TO MY NPD PARENT?  

No. I don’t like NPD parents and find them extremely off-putting and resistant to change. I prefer to advise you about interacting with them.

 

HERE ARE SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WE’LL BE CONSIDERING:

  • What attempts have you made with your NPD parent?

  • Do you have recent correspondence that you can forward to me after we meet so that I can get a feel for their personality?

  • What was your childhood like?

  • If you are married, has your  NPD parent affected your marriage or partnership?

  • If you are divorced, was your NPD parent a factor in the divorce?

  • What is your current relationship with your NPD / narcissistic parent?

  •  Are there other significant players involved in the relationship with your NPD / narcissistic parent?
